Dr. Curtis Hill

Dr. Curtis Hill is a native of Anderson, South Carolina.  He is the son of the late Nathaniel and Corine Williams Hill. 

Dr. Hill preached his initial sermon on June 29, 1979 at Mtn. Spring Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina.  He was called to pastor New Holly Light Baptist Church in November 1979 where he currently serves as the Senior Pastor.  During his 28 year tenure, Dr. Hill has served and continues to serve on various community and state committees including serving as past and current Moderator of Union #3 of the Rocky River Baptist Association, second Vice Moderator for the Rocky River Baptist Association, instructor for Rocky River Baptist Association School of Methods, board member FOUR KIDS FOUNDATION for School District #4, member of Pendleton Improvement Council for Pendleton High School District #4, member of Pendleton and Anderson ministerial alliances, member of the NAACP, member of Pendleton Exchange Club, member of the National Baptist Convention USA Incorporated, member of the National Congress of Christian Education, member of the Education Missionary Convention of South Carolina, and is a registered Campus Minister for Clemson University.  Dr. Hill has also received numerous awards and recognition for his leadership and service.  Most recently he received the Leadership Award for the NAACP and the Healthy Community Award.

Dr. Hill was educated in the Anderson County public school system.  He has attended Toccoa Falls College, Anderson College, Shaw University where he received a BA Degree in Religion and Philosophy, Clemson University where he received a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling and Education, and Covington Theological Seminary where he received a Doctor of Ministry Degree.

Dr. Hill has been married for 36 years and is the husband of Louise Hanks Hill.  They have two children, Shenicka Hill McCray and Curtis N. Hill.  They are also blessed to be the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.

Dr. Hill is grateful for the things that the Lord has allowed him to accomplish, but the most important thing is that God saved him one day.
