Project WAVE (We All Value Education!) is a faith-based, academic, enrichment program sponsored by New Holly Light.
Certified, highly qualified, experienced teachers and staff work with students entering grades K5 through 6th (elementary grades in our school district). The teachers and staff provide remedial and accelerated instruction, with special emphasis on helping at-risk students prepare for the next grade by reinforcing basic skills and offering academic challenges.
The cultural enrichment component of the program centers around field trips, in-house presentations, and hands-on learning activities designed to broaden students’ horizons and increase their awareness. In addition, students receive spiritual motivation and have daily devotion.
Project WAVE is a two-week program that begins shortly after school is dismissed for the summer (typically the second week in June). The daily hours are 7:30 – 2:00, and students are served breakfast, lunch, and a snack. The cost for the program is $80. There are only forty slots available, and the slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are also offered FREE tutoring throughout the school year.
